Hi, I’m James, and loft conversions are all I do.
I started Loft Conversion Nottingham after spending over a decade working as a site manager and lead carpenter on residential building projects across Nottinghamshire. I’ve worked on everything from small Velux conversions in Victorian terraces to full Mansard builds on detached homes in West Bridgford and Wollaton.
Over the years, I kept seeing the same problem. Homeowners would hire a general builder who’d take on a loft conversion as a side job between kitchen fits and extensions. The result was almost always the same delays, poor structural work, staircases that didn’t meet building regulations, and families left chasing somebody who was already three jobs ahead.
I started this company to do one thing properly. Loft conversions, done right, by people who do nothing else.
Today we’re a small, tight team of specialists based in Nottingham. Every member of our crew has been working on loft conversions specifically for years. We don’t subcontract the structural work. We don’t disappear between phases. And we don’t take on more jobs than we can handle at one time.

We never give a price over the phone or from a photo. Every quote starts with a free visit to your home, where we assess your roof structure, existing headroom, access points, and any planning considerations. That way the quote we give you is accurate — not a number we'll revise upwards once we've started.
From your first call to the day we hand over the keys to your new room, you'll deal with the same person. No being passed around, no wondering who to call when you have a question.
Building regulations approval is required for every loft conversion in Nottingham no exceptions. We handle the full application, work with the building inspector throughout the build, and make sure your completion certificate is in your hands at the end. This is vital if you ever sell your home.
We use dust sheets throughout the build, protect your staircase and landing, and do a full clean at the end of every working day. You're living in your home while we're working — we respect that.
We cap the number of active projects we run at any one time. When our diary is full, we tell you rather than overstretch. Your project gets the attention it deserves, not the scraps left over from a dozen others running at once.
